“I am an obese white woman, I am a skinny Asian man. I am look at me, and look at each other, we are human beings. Beautiful from birth until the day that is the last day. We shouldn’t separate ourselves from our sisters, brothers, our family based on looks or race. We are the same, we are rainbows.” I had the privilege to hear Maya Angelou say this about a week ago, she spoke so beautifully about positivity when it comes to the human body. Needless to say everyone has problems accepting their own body, whether it is the color of your skin, your weight, your gender, the scars on your arms or the color of your eyes. Everyone is made from the same materials and everyone is beautiful. I wore this to see Maya Angelou and I felt handsome for the first time in s long time, and once she graced the stage and began to speak about her problems with body image and how she dealt with it I realized something, a woman who is so well spoken, respected, and famous felt the same way as me, as well as every other person I know. I see these posts on this blog and all I see are beautiful people who are on a journey to feel as beautiful as they are. Everyone is beautiful it is up to us to stop separating ourselves from each other and start helping each other realize that we although we look different, are made of the same material we are all beautiful. Keep smiling, keep living, stay beautiful.
